OMAA Winter Session Recap
OMAA members met at Rogue Regency Inn in Medford for Winter Session on Friday, Feb. 10. The morning session began with interested members meeting for breakfast and a book club discussion about the book Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese. After breakfast, professional organizer and JCMA member, Lynn Hammond, presented to members a fun yet effective approach to organizing spaces both at home and work.
During lunch, members had the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and meet fellow members from other regions of the state. Keynote speaker, Rick Phillips, CEO of Community Matters, spoke to the group about an anti-bullying program for schools, called Safe School Ambassadors. After Rick’s presentation, Alliance members felt hopeful and energized to advocate for this innovative program to be brought into local schools. For more information, visit www.community-matters.org.
Later that afternoon, in support of JCMA’s community health project, a diaper drive for the Family Nurturing Center, Alliance members toured the Center and learned about the services provided for at-risk children and families. A business meeting followed after the tour for the general membership. After the meeting adjourned, members and spouses enjoyed dinner and fellowship at a great downtown restaurant.
