OMA Headquarters in Portland
OMAA members and guests who attended this conference at OMA headquarters April 29 through May 1 heard dynamic speakers, participated in an OMAA business meeting (meeting minutes available at the bottom of this page), and attended OMAA’s annual AMAF silent auction and the OMA/OMAA Presidents’ Installation Dinner.
On Friday and Saturday, key speakers who presented pertinent topics included Dr. James Beckerman, cardiologist and author of the Flex Diet; Rick Phillips, developer of the "Safe School Ambassadors" program, which promotes and teaches positive interrelationship skills to youth; and Beth Giles of NW Organizing Solutions. Co-speakers Dr. Anne Alftine and Dr. Eileen Bobeck addressed both OMA and OMAA members, discussing the facts and 'stressors' that are affecting the daily lives of physicians and their families.
On Saturday evening, Carla McKelvey, MD and Marie Stoddard were installed as OMA President and OMAA President, respectively. OMAA’s silent auction, a fundraiser for AMAF, raised $4,850.
On Sunday morning, AMAA Director for Western States Pat Kletke of Utah led the rededication ceremony of the OMAA slate of officers for 2011-2012: Pam Olsen, Medford, Secretary; Darlena Holt, Roseburg, Treasurer; Beth Irish, Portland, Immediate Past President; Leanna Lindquist, West Linn, Director.
