Wellness Resources
We all know the practice of medicine can take its toll. What might have been less clear until recently is just how stressful a career in medicine can be. As the collected body of physicians and physician associates in the state, the OMA has been involved from the very beginning in statewide efforts to combat provider stress, with a redoubled effort when the concept became more mainstream.
There are resources available. You can follow any of the links below for more information or you can contact the OMA's Knowledge Center.
Oregon Wellness Program
The Oregon Wellness Program (OWP) promotes Oregon health care professionals' wellbeing through education, coordinated regional counseling services, telemedicine services, and research. Currently, the program is open to physicians, physician associates, advanced practice providers, and dentists.
The Oregon Medical Association has a close partnership with the OWP. The OMA executive director serves on the OWP board and the OMA Government Relations team advocates for the program through legislative action. The OMA takes the wellness of its members, and all physicians and PAs in Oregon, very seriously: We believe that a healthy Oregon starts with a healthy workforce.
