Dr. Sejal Hathi to Deliver Keynote Address at the OMA 2024 Annual Conference

April 11, 2024

The Oregon Medical Association is thrilled to announce Dr. Sejal Hathi, MD, MBA, Director of the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), as the keynote speaker for the in-person 2024 Annual Conference, Medicine Now: Tides of Change.

Dr. Hathi was appointed by Governor Tina Kotek in November and began serving as the Director of the OHA in January. Most recently, Dr. Hathi served as New Jersey’s Deputy Health Commissioner for public health services and its designated state health officer. Prior to her role in New Jersey, she spent two years as the White House’s Senior Policy Advisor for Public Health in the Biden-Harris Administration, leading various domestic presidential policy priorities.

As the conference theme suggests, “Medicine Now: Tides of Change,” Dr. Hathi’s insights promise to navigate the currents of innovation and adaptation shaping modern medicine.  Her roles as a board-certified attending physician and faculty member of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine & Bloomberg School of Public Health exemplify her commitment to embracing and leading change.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Hathi as our keynote speaker,” said OMA President, Amy Hinrichs, MD.  “In an era defined by rapid shifts in healthcare, her expertise will facilitate meaningful conversation as we create new paths forward for professionals across the field.”

The in-person annual conference will be held at the Oregon Golf Club in West Linn, Oregon on October 26, offering attendees the opportunity to connect with their peers around the state and hear about Dr. Hathi’s perspective.  For more information and to register, visit: theoma.org/conference
